WELCOME! Christ Lutheran Church is delighted to provide this childcare service to you on selected Friday evenings throughout the year from 5:30-9:00 pm. We pray it will be a blessing to you as well as your children as they enjoy playtime a fun, safe environment.

Little Lambs Childcare is a non-licensed childcare operating under “Minnesota Statutes 2005, Chapter 245A, Rule#2” (9502.0325).  We believe that children are a precious gift from God, and take our responsibility to provide them a safe, enriching experience very seriously.  We encourage you to review the guidelines and policies on this webpage and speak to one of our Childcare Coordinators if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions as to how we can provide an even better program for your child(ren).

REGISTRATION/RESRVATION PROCEDURES: In order to ensure adequate staffing & preparation, parents are highly encouraged to make reservations in advance.  CLC may deny service to families based on overcapacity, and will reserve the right to refuse service to any family at our discretion.  Priority will be given to families put on “waiting lists” and to members of CLC.

Reservation requests will be granted in “phases”.  Highest priority will be given to families requesting reservations at least 1 week in advance.  A childcare coordinator will contact all families to confirm their reservations.   Families whose requests cannot be honored due to overcapacity will be put on a priority waiting list for a future date.

If a family has a change in plans, they should contact CLC immediately to cancel their reservation.  No-shows may be refused subsequent service.

ACTIVITIES: Specific activities will be planned by the Coordinator.  Typical activities may include:

• Mealtime/snack time
• Playground time (weather permitting)
• Gym time
• Bible lessons/story time
• Crafts
• Videos
• Etc.

If you are uncomfortable with your child participating in Christian-themed activities, please speak with the Childcare Coordinator.

RATES:

• One child - $15/evening (by 9:00) (flat rate)
• Two children - $25/evening (by 9:00)  (flat rate)
• Family rate (max per family) - $35/evening (by 9:00)  (flat rate)
• Late charge – 50% surcharge

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS: In order to ensure children’s safety, the following policies will be enforced:

• All doors will remain locked except for main entryway
• Activities will be restricted to secure areas that have controlled access (i.e. doorways) – for example the gym, classrooms, teen room, playground, etc.  Children will be permitted in “common areas” with an escort only.
• Children will be supervised by an adult 100% of the time.
• A Coordinator with training in child/infant CPR and first-aid will be on hand at all times.
• Children will not be accepted if the run a temperature of 100 degrees or more.   If a child becomes ill or feverish the parent/guardian will be contacted and requested to pick child up their child immediately.
• If a child receives a minor injury - First Aid may be applied.  An "Ouch Report" will be filled out and marked on the "Drop-Off and Pick-Up Form" (The Caregiver will determine whether to call parent/guardian depending on the extent/level of injury - unless otherwise requested.)

DISCIPLINE POLICY:  Corporal punishment will not be allowed.  Time-outs may be used - 1minute per age. (2yr old gets 2 minutes; 5yr old gets 5minutes, etc.)   If a child gets too aggressive, they may be separated from their current activities/station.  If the child has serious behavioral problems the Coordinator may call the parents to pick up their child/children immediately.
